Isolated Gate Drive Technology

Naxin Micro has officially launched the PrimeDrive series of isolated gate drivers, dedicated to delivering high-reliability, full-range solutions for a wide range of applications and meeting stringent system requirements in high-voltage, high-dv/dt, and complex electromagnetic environments. This product family continues to be optimized in terms of drive capability, intelligent protection mechanisms, long-term operational reliability, and system robustness, boasting significant technological leadership and effectively helping customers reduce design and verification risks.

The PrimeDrive product portfolio encompasses isolated half-bridge drivers, isolated single-transistor drivers, intelligent isolated drivers, and functional safety drivers, among others. These products are widely applicable across automotive electronics, industrial control, renewable energy systems, power conversion, and consumer electronics, providing stable and reliable drive solutions for a wide range of system designs.

Building on this foundation, NSI has further expanded its NSI67xx-Q1 family of intelligent isolated gate drivers by introducing a compact SSOW20 package version. While retaining the original series’ outstanding performance and high reliability, this new package reduces PCB footprint by approximately 40% compared with the SOW16 package, making it better suited to the space-constrained design requirements of high-power-density electric drive systems—particularly when paired with compact power modules.

The electric drive system solution based on the NSI67xx-Q1 has successfully passed functional safety assessment by DEKRA, enabling the system to achieve ASIL C–level functional safety objectives. While meeting stringent safety requirements, this solution leverages well-optimized hardware redundancy and system architecture to minimize modifications to the main power circuit, thereby significantly shortening the development cycle. In addition, it is compatible with both 400 V and 800 V high-voltage platforms and fully supports SiC and IGBT power devices, providing an efficient and viable technical pathway for delivering cost-effective, functionally safe electric drive systems.

How to Use a Multiphase Boost Converter

When the required system voltage exceeds the available supply voltage, a boost converter is typically an ideal solution. However, conventional standard boost topologies are not the only option. In certain application scenarios, phase-shifted multiphase boost converters can deliver superior performance: these converters achieve higher efficiency under heavy-load conditions while significantly reducing the required capacitance values for both the input and output stages.
